So for quite some time now, lots of people keep asking me about running Nested ESXi on vCloud Air and is it possible. The answer to that question is YES, you can run Nested ESXi on vCloud Air today. VMware vCloud Director 8.0 Beta

VMware has just opened up an open beta for VMware vCloud Director 8.0 version. This is a major new release of vCloud Director and has lots of integration with new and important products to enable cloud providers deliver a true seamless cloud experience. I am now hearing people say, why would I want to test vCloud Director? Well, firstly if you are a service provider and are part of the vCloud Air Network, this will eventually become the latest version that you will be deploying. Secondly, it comes packed with cool features and integration with other VMware products. vSphere Replication Unable to obtain SSL certificate – Bad Server Response

Working on upgrading our vCloud Air TMM lab today, I came across an interesting error that had me baffled for quite some time. I was upgrading the vSphere Replication Appliance from version 5.8 to version 6.0 and everything went smoothly. After logging out and clearing the cache for the web browser (as documented here), I came across a new field that needs to be configured for the vSphere Replication Appliance to work. Its the LookupService Address. This didn’t exist in the previous version, but easy I thought. Lets enter the vCenter server FQDN and away we go. vSphere Replication Unable to obtain SSL certificate Then I received the error: Unable to obtain SSL certificate: Bad server response; is a LookupService listening on the given address? Codespaces is a reminder to us all, not just cloud consumers

How tragic, Codespaces.com is no longer a viable business. This is tragic, and a massive shame. It does serve as a critical reminder that security of our services and data is essential. It is the most important piece of running any IT service. Personally, I find it very sad that we live in a world where this kind of thing can happen. The note on codespaces.com website made me feel extremely sad and angry, but its the world we live in. As an ex-business owner, this was always my biggest worry. Someone trying to hold me or my business hostage, just for money. Most people run businesses (especially small or medium businesses) for the passion of what they are doing, and money is a by-product of that passion.
