Hot on the heels of Antony Spiteri’s blog post titled VMWORLD 2017: VCLOUD AIR NETWORK AGAIN OUT IN FORCE I wanted to give my own take on the vCloud Air Network sessions being presented at VMworld. This year is a good year for Cloud at VMworld, alongside the VMware on AWS sessions, the vCloud Air Network has a number of sessions, plus a ton of sessions being led by some of the cloud industries biggest players, IBM, iland, Navisite, CenturyLink to name a few. VMworld vCloud Air Sessions

VMworld vCloud Air sessions on YouTube

These have been made available back in September, but I wanted to share with everyone the two VMware VMworld vCloud Air sessions that have been posted on the internet. While I am out in Macau in Asia presenting Tech Summit quite a few people have asked how they can view the VMworld sessions without a VMworld account.  VMworld publish the top 10 sessions of the day on YouTube, so if you couldn’t attend VMworld and don’t have an account, you can still watch the top 10 sessions. VMworld vCloud Air sessions The first one published is session HBC2068 – vCloud Air Networking Technical Deep Dive This is presented by Ninad Desai (Networking Product Manager) and myself. The Second Session is HBC1533 – How to build a Hybrid Cloud – Steps to extend your Data Center This is presented by Chris Colotti (Principal Technical Marketing Architect) and myself Eric Sloof has […]

VMworld 2014 must see cloud sessions

VMworld 2014 Must See Cloud sessions

As we get ever closer to VMworld, the usual Must See session lists are coming out in the blogosphere.  I don’t want to replicate the work that those people have already done, so I would recommend reading Duncan Epping’s list over at Yellow-Bricks.  Its the most interesting list I have seen so far.  Read it here. I already published my session list a while back, so if you want to see what I am presenting specifically please click here.  I wont be plugging my own sessions here, you can decide if you want to attend them. So whats the purpose of this article then?  Well, as most people know now, I am working in the cloud services business unit at VMware.  I wanted to highlight some cool sessions that if your interested in what you can do with clouds, are worth attending.  These sessions really show the value and the […]

Suggested vCloud VMworld sessions

I have been looking through the VMworld content catalogue today. There are over 250 sessions this year, covering a variety of topics. Something for everyone as they say. For me working in the vCloud space, I thought it would be good to create a list of sessions that I think will be beneficial to people wanting to learn more about the vCloud products, and how they can further enhance there current vCloud environments. Lets start with the most important session, mine 🙂 INF-VSP1168 – Architecting a Cloud Infrastructure This session will discuss the various design considerations when architecting the foundation for every solid cloud environment: vSphere 5.0. We will start with sizing and scaling and end with some operational guidance. Different examples will be used to show the impact design considerations can have on the availability of your services. Presenters: David Hill, Chris Colotti and Aidan Dalgleish INF-VSP2448 – Automating Bare […]
