Hot on the heels of Antony Spiteri’s blog post titled VMWORLD 2017: VCLOUD AIR NETWORK AGAIN OUT IN FORCE I wanted to give my own take on the vCloud Air Network sessions being presented at VMworld.
This year is a good year for Cloud at VMworld, alongside the VMware on AWS sessions, the vCloud Air Network has a number of sessions, plus a ton of sessions being led by some of the cloud industries biggest players, IBM, iland, Navisite, CenturyLink to name a few.
The full list of vCloud Air Network sessions with dates and times are:

Finally, for vCloud Air Network sessions, a number of Meet the Experts have been scheduled. Meet the Experts (MTE) are roundtable discussions with a product or solution expert from VMware. I would highly recommend attending one of these round tables if you have questions on public clouds and VMware powered service providers.

Quick start guide on networking in hybrid cloud with NSX and vCloud Director | Networking has posted some of the most challenging hurdles for cloud service providers to overcome for hybrid cloud offerings. vCloud Director (vCD) integrates with NSX natively and offers a rich set of networking and security features. Now cloud service providers can quickly build a mult-tenant public cloud and hybrid cloud offering with advanced networking and cloud management features built-in. This session will give you quick guides on networking and security features of NSX integrated in vCD and discuss the best practices to operate your hybrid cloud on NSX and vCD. | Boskey Savla |
Deliver a self-serviced Hybrid Cloud with existing Vmware based virtualized infrastructure: Ask us How | Lot of Cloud Service Providers have multiple service delivery models to meet their customers ‘cloud’ needs. These models can be Hosted/Dedicated/Managed and are mostly based on VMware vSphere. To maintain and create these environments, service providers have to invest a lot operationally. CSP’d tend to build their own tooling on top of vSphere to service multiple consumers. To be more agile and responsive to your customers’ needs its necessary to have a Platform that can help CSP’s churn out capacity from their datacenter faster and yet give customers a self-service portal. vCloud Director helps bridge this gap by sitting on top of your existing infrastructure and can bring both your existing and future customers in a simplified cloud delivery platform. In this roundtable session we will discuss how vCD can help CSP’s manage their existing vCenter based datacenters using vCD | Tina Lam |
Disaster Recovery as a Service, consume it or build it | Disaster Recovery as a Service is the fastest growing solution in the cloud marketplace. Whether you are a service provider or a vmware customer, come talk to the experts on how to consume the cloud as your DR insurance policy, or how to build your own Disaster Recovery as a Service | Bob Webster |
The VMware Cloud Provider Program – How does an enterprise consume it? | Vmware has a growing group of service providers (over 4000) around the world providing a different range of services that meet every enterprise need. Come talk to David Hill, a Technologist in the VCPP group about how you can leverage this network of providers to give your enterprise the agility it needs to suceed. | David Hill |
Its going to be epic!! See you all on Sunday!
