VMware VMworld vCloud Air must see sessions

VMware VMworld vCloud Air must see sessions

Its coming!  VMworld Barcelona is coming soon.  So soon in fact it actually starts on Sunday.  Wow, I can hardly believe it.  Still feels like VMworld USA was last week. This will be my last VMworld Barcelona working in the vCloud Air public cloud business unit, before I transition over to my new role in the Cloud Service Provider BU.  You can read about that in a seperate post. VMware vCloud Air has some awesome sessions this year and I would actively encourage all of you to see these sessions if you can get in. The highlighted sessions are based on vCloud Air’s core use case focus of Data Center Extension, Replacement and Disaster Recovery.  These sessions range from 200 level through to 400 level advanced techincal. VMware VMworld vCloud Air must see sessions These are not the only vCloud Air sessions available for you to attend at VMworld, but […]

VMworld Barcelona – Where I will be

A few people have contacted me on twitter recently asking what sessions I am presenting at VMworld Barcelona 2015. This post is to provide a quick list of the sessions, and date and times of those sessions. Before we get into what where and when my sessions will be though. Lets have a quick re-cap on some of the things that happened at VMworld 2015 USA. Also watch a re-cap with Jay Marshall (who forgets he no longer works at VMware) and Gary Coburn talking about the Google vCloud Air partnership. and of course, no vCloud Air recap would be great without George Kobar having an appearance.  Watch George talk about Microsoft Sharepoint on vCloud Air. Here is my list of sessions: Session Number Session Title Abstract Date/Time EXPERT SESSION Disaster Recovery and Object Storage with Expert – David Hill Meet the experts session.  Come along and talk about vCloud […]

VMworld Barcelona 2014 Schedule

I am putting the final touches to my presentations for VMworld Barcelona 2014.  Its an exciting time, and I am looking forward to presenting these sessions again.  They scored really well in the US, so I hope that they will be great, valuable and informative sessions for everyone. Session Number Session Title Abstract Date / Time HBC1533 How to build a Hybrid Cloud – Steps to Extend your Datacenter This session will help attendees understand the various steps to build and extended datacenter to vCloud Hybrid Service. Generally, speaking customers find it easier to view the vCHS cloud as just another datacenter. However instead of being physical it is all software defined and available on demand. We will leverage examples and use cases from current customers, as well as, review a specific setup the vCHS Technical Marketing team has built in a “Customer” Lab. We will also explore the networking […]

VMworld Barcelona

VMworld Barcelona is just around the corner. Unlike VMworld US where I was on vacation spending most of my time in the hang space, I will be at Barcelona in an official VMware capacity. I will be carrying out some booth duty, so if anyone wants to meet me, please come over to the VMware vCloud Booth. I will be presenting a session alongside Aidan Dalgleish, Frank Denneman and Rawlinson Rivera INF-VSP1168 – Architecting a Cloud Infrastructure Tuesday 12:30 – 13:30 This session will discuss the various design considerations when architecting the foundation for every solid cloud environment: vSphere 5.0. We will start with sizing and scaling and end with some operational guidance. Different examples will be used to show the impact design considerations can have on the availability of your services. Look forward to seeing everyone there.
