My first VMworld 2011 – A speaker’s recap – Day 3
This is part 3 of my VMworld 2011 recap posts. Day 3. I woke up to aching legs, which is to be expected considering I have spent the last two days on my feet for around 14 hours. I had arrange to meet Chris Colotti (@ccolotti) for breakfast at 6.45 am. We were presenting our session “CIM1264 – Private vCloud Architecture Technical Deep Dive” at 8am. We headed off to the employee lounge, some of you may have noticed Chris’ tweet on breakfast for champions. It consisted of a bowl of Special K, Red Bull and a large cup of coffee (for me being the true Brit that I am, the coffee was replaced with Tea). We got to our session room for around 7.30am. How to re-install TweetDeck on Mac
I never realised how much I rely on Tweetdeck until today when all my columns became corrupted and I could no longer receive tweets through it. I tried the usual delete the app etc, but this did not work, every time I re-installed, when it loaded it had the same problems! This was so frustrating. I even tried removing Adobe AIR with no success! In the end I managed to resolve the issue, by following the steps listed below. Delete TweetDeck.app from your application folder Delete any file or folder named TweetDeck under “home/Library/Preferences/TweetDeck” Re-install TweetDeck Quite easy really, but took me a while to find the TweetDeck preferences files. Please bear in mind that removing these files will delete any of your searches or saved columns. Not a big deal for me, but I know other people have hundreds….
VMworld Europe – Session time announced
Now VMworld US has finished, it is time to concentrate on VMworld Europe. Chris Colotti (@ccolotti) and I presented #CIM1264 Private vCloud Architecture Technical Deep Dive three times in Las Vegas, and reviewing the session surveys and Twitter posts it was a great success. For those who want to learn more about VMware vCloud Director architecture and to dive into Allocation Models and Networking, this session will be ideal for you. Currently the session is only scheduled once on Tuesday 18th at 12:00pm. If this session proves to be as popular as it was in the US, then we will attempt to schedule another slot.
