I have been looking through the VMworld content catalogue today. There are over 250 sessions this year, covering a variety of topics. Something for everyone as they say. For me working in the vCloud space, I thought it would be good to create a list of sessions that I think will be beneficial to people wanting to learn more about the vCloud products, and how they can further enhance there current vCloud environments. While upgrading two of my ESXi hosts today I found this really helpful howto video on the VMware KB website. It shows you a step by step walkthrough of how to upgrade your ESXi 4.1 host to ESXi 5.0. There is a lot more information on different ways to upgrade to ESXi 5.0 in this VMware KB.
Public Vote: which avatar should I use?
So a few people on Twitter recently have said they love my current Avatar and find it really funny and cool, however a few other people have told me it is ridiculous and that I should have a professional avatar showing off my glowing and glamorous face. What I would like to do is hold a public vote on which one of the three Avatar’s shown below I should use. After the end of next week, I will collect all the votes and change my avatar accordingly. Answers on a postcard too… Seriously please just leave a comment stating 1, 2 or 3.
Raspberry Pi running VMware View client
This is pretty cool. Looking through the internet at stuff I can do with my Raspberry Pi (apart from running RISC OS natively) I was interested to see if anyone had begun running a VMware View client on it. The Raspberry PI costs £25 so makes a perfect Thin Client. The video below shows the Pi running the View client nicely.
