About David Hill

Experienced Cloud and Technology Leader

David Hill is an experienced leader in Cloud and Technology, with over 30 years in the IT industry. He specializes in Technical Product Marketing, with a strong focus on Cloud and Cloud-Native technologies. David has held senior roles at leading organizations such as Check Point Software Technologies, Veeam Software and VMware. A recognized public speaker, he has presented at numerous industry conferences worldwide.

Before joining VMware in 2010, David served as Managing Director of a UK-based consultancy firm. At VMware, he spent eight years driving the global cloud initiative, empowering Cloud Service Providers to deliver Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings. As the lead evangelist for VMware vCloud Air, the company’s public cloud service, David played a pivotal role in expanding VMware’s cloud footprint.

Following his tenure at VMware, David joined Veeam Software as Field CTO and Lead Cloud Native Evangelist. There, he significantly enhanced Veeam’s brand presence in the public cloud and developer communities.  At Check Point Software Technologies, David spearheaded cloud strategic partnerships, leading cross-platform technology integrations with major cloud providers to enhance product capabilities, drive business growth, and deliver customer value.

David relocated to the USA in 2012, living in California for four years before settling in Austin, Texas, in 2016. In addition to his leadership roles, David has authored multiple books and white papers, offering expert insights to industry analysts and the IT press. His extensive experience and thought leadership have made him a respected voice in the cloud technology space.

David owns and operates a motocross parts and apparel e-commerce business while building and managing a growing self-storage portfolio.
