Celebrating four years at VMware

Wow! What can I say?  Its four years at VMware this month! I cant quite believe how quickly its gone by.  I received the email saying that my VASA cubes will be delivered shortly! How awesome is that, a company that honours your four and eight years with some really nice glass art. To read more about the VASA Cubes and how Diane Green got the idea,click here. During my four years at VMware, my life has changed quite significantly.  Both personally and professionally.  From a personal perspective, I have got married, had a child, moved from the UK to California, then had another child (the first Hill to be born outside of the UK).  Phew! New Role at VMware

New role at VMware – Senior Technical Marketing Architect

I have now been at VMware for nearly four years, and I still love every day.  I am pleased to announce that I am taking on a new role at VMware – I am joining the vCloud Hybrid Service Business Unit as a Senior Technical Marketing Architect. This is an exciting time for me.  This will be my first transfer out of Global Technology Solutions (GTS).  Having worked within the Cloud Practice, Center of Excellence, and Professional Services Engineering teams all created out of re-orgs, I am extremely excited to be moving to one of the key areas of VMware.  An added bonus and a cool thing about this move too is it gives me the opportunity to team up with Chris Colotti again.  I am also looking forward to working with Massimo Re Ferre again, I have missed his email debates, and will be enjoying picking them back up. VMware VSAN – Virtual SAN – How to configure

This article shows how to enable a VMware Virtual SAN (VSAN) cluster within VMware vSphere.  If you are unfamiliar with VSAN, and what it is, I recommend reading the following articles. Pre-requisites There are a number of pre-requisites that are needed, prior to configuring a vSphere cluster to participate as a VSAN.  The following list shows the minimum requirements to implement a VSAN. Minimum of three hosts. Each storage* host has a minimum of one SSD and one spindle hard disk.
